The Lord of the Rings
Books are the importants references for the humanity. Its is a set of written, printed, illustrated, or blank sheets.
The oldest forerunner of books were the papyrus scrolls of the Egyptians which orginate from the 3rd millennium befor christ.
The book as we know it today originated in 1450 with the book printing by Johannes Gutenberg.
2010 The Internet company Google estimated that there are some 130 million different books in the world.
Today I want to introduce you a very famous books triology.
The Lord of the Rings.
But first I would like to inform you about other points of reading. (auf Gliederung eingehen)
1. The importance of reading
Reading is an important basic skills of your life. It is the basis for communication and education.
Anyone who reads much can classify experiences easier and creates the conditions for lifelong learning.
Studies show that people who can not read accurate are failed in highly skilled professions.
Despite many educational institutions there are 7.5 million illiterate people in Germany.
Children, which will be read, have better grades on in diverse subjects. (auf Grafik eingehen) Here you can see a comparing of school grades from Children to was read and childrens who are not read.
2. Categories of literature
To create a complete overview of categories of literature is very difficult thats why I have picked out the most important categories.
Literature is divided into 2 parts. Secondary literature and primary literature.
At the primary literature is fiction, drama, poetry, epic poetry, literature and nonfiction.
The secondary literature includes biographies and literary critic.
3. The Novel
A novel is a long narrative, normally in prose, which describes fictional characters and events, usually in the form of a sequential story.
It gives nine types of Novels. The Comic Novel, the Horror Novel, the Psychological Novel, the social Novel, the Thriller, the Epistolary Novel, the Fantasy Novel, the Novel of Manners Novel and the Adventure Novel. Short informations about these you can see on the sheet of paper from Misses Rietmüller.
The Lord of the Rings for example is a Fantasy and Adventure typ of Novel.
My favourite typ of Novel is Fantasy and Adventure and Comic.
I will introduce short the Comic Novel. An other word for Comic Novel is Graphic Novel.
Its entertaining and funny and contains satirical elements.
The first "graphic novel" was write in 1964 in America.
4. The Lord of the Rings
Now I will told you something about my favourite book The Lord of the Rings.
The Lord of the Rings is an epic high-fantasy novel written by English author Tolkien.
John Ronald Reuel Tolkien was a British writer, poet, and university professor who is best known as the author of the classic high-fantasy works. He is born on born on 3 January 1892 in Bloemfontein in the Orange Free State an died on 2 September 1973 with 81 years in Bournemouth. This is in England.
The book consists of three parts. The Fellowship of the Ring, The Two Towers and The Return of the King. The three parts published in 1954 and 1955 in the United Kingdom.
The novel has been translated, into 38 languages.
Now I will give you a short view in the triology.
Evil Sauron was the holder of a magic ring. But In a battle 3000 years ago his ring finger was cut off. Now his mind is awakened again, looking for the magic ring that gives its wearer absolute power in order to take up jurisdiction over all of Middle-earth. The shy, young hobbit Frodo Baggins righteous, in whose possession is the ring, sets out to destroy it and avert the danger.
I think the book is one of the greatest works of literature and certainly one of the best in the fantasy. The huge world creates by Tolkien and the exciting history are made extremely entertaining and beautiful.
In my opinion one of the best fantasy books of all time.
5. New ways of reading
199 Sony invented the first e-reader. Today it gives al lot of Technical Devices to read.
Computer, Kindle, Pocketbook IQ, Thalia book, Story, LumiRead, ebook reader or your smartphone or tablet.
E-readers are very practical but it has advantages and disadvantages.
Advantages are that you can download books for a low price, the touchscrean is easy to handle. In addition a ebook is very small and handly. It only weigh 150 to 200 gramm and an ebook is very space-saving. An ebook itself doesn't weight anything as its solely the data, but the e-reader has a weight. An advantage of an ebook would be that you can store a couple of them on your device or e-reader. So instead of 5 heavy books, you only take your small device with you on holiday (and download more if needed).
In Germany, an ebook should cost the same as a regular book.
Disadvantages are not all books are also available as an eBook and can give bad.
An ereader can easily break down as a book and its need power.
Lot of people mean that an book is prettier as an ebook and its can reflect.
I think that there will be books ever since books are timeless. Technical equipment break down and lose at some point value.
Currently an ebook is indeed more convenient than a book, but that can change again quickly.
