Johann Georg Elser
He was a resistance fighter who tried to assassinate Adolf Hitler and almost all of the government leaders on the 8 November 1939 in Bürgerbräukeller in Munich.
Life:
born:
4.Januar 1903, in Hermaringen in Würtemberg as the eldest of 6 children
died:
9. April 1945 in the concentration camp of Dachau.
He went to school from 1910-1917 in Königsbronn an later he build and designed furnitures
In the years 1928 he joint the Roter Frontkämpferbund which was a military part of the KPD.
Assassination of Hitler:
Elser was a early opponent of Hitler so he rejects the Nazi salute.
His main arguments to hate Hitler were the worse change living conditions and the preparation for a war which he noticed in his job.
He wanted to assassinate hitler to prevent the 2.world war.
He knew that Hitler every year on the 8.November a speech in the Bürgerbräukeller gave , which was popular for political speeches.
So he but a time bomb in the pillar behind the place where Hitler was expected to gave the speech, he needed 30 nights to dig a hole in the pillar were he could put the bomb in.
The assassination failed because Hitler left the place 13 minutes before the bomb explodes so Elser killed only innocent people with the bomb.
Elser was arrested before the bomb explodes as he tried to leave the country.
He was killed on the 9.April 1945 only a few weeks before the end of the war.
To remember on Elser, there is a statue of him in Berlin, in Konstanz and in Sachsenhausen
