Social Media - Boon or Bane - Referat
Studys show that the average person now spends more time each day on their phone and computer than they do sleeping including about two hours spend on social networking sites. Is this the right way to spend your day? What about school, friends and hobbies ? There won´t be enough time left to do both.
Many young people are using social networks because they have well known upsides.
You are able to make new friends all over the world and keeping in touch with them is very easy.
The internet is also one of the biggest source of information which is very useful as long as they are not so called “Fakenews“.
Social media is a platform where the youth can form groups and discuss upon various topics ranging from music to education and politics to films. It helps the youth in building connections and opportunities for their career. One can show their talents here as well!
Similar to a young child who wants a new toy after he gets bored of playing with the old ones, the youth is also looking for new things to keep themselves busy and discard anything that is outdated.
Hence (Daher), the changing trend of social media! Just think of all the different social networking sides like snapchat, Facebook, Twitter etc.
But every medal has its own reverse. So, there are some cons of using the social networking sites too.
Our private space has been invaded by social media, there are very few things that others cannot find out about us with a click.
The internet is a place to interact with new people and a way to expose yourself to strangers. So you can get hacked by someone else and they can pretend to be you by stealing your identity in the virtual world.
By doing so and e.g. posting pictures of illegal things it can have a huge impact on your live.
Social Networking sides are also a big waste of time since you are aimlessly browsing instead of doing something useful for example volunteering.
Though social media has revolutionised the world by bringing us closer than ever, it also have it downsides. The future of social networking sites look promising but people will have to deal with the problems associated with it.
